Goyt Valley 2 - Whaley Bridge to Strines

The second walk exploring the valley of the River Goyt from Whaley Bridge to Strines. We start by walking along the towpath of the Peak Forest Canal which runs along the valley side of the River Goyt. At New Mills we leave the canal to follow a path by the River Goyt past its confluence with the River Sett after which we enter The Torrs, a dramatic gorge with the spectacular Millenium Walkway which spans the otherwise inaccessible cliffs. At Torr Wier is a micro Reverse Archimedean Screw Hydroelectric scheme. We then continue along the Goyt Way to finish at Strines Station
