Location: Newhey Tram Stop, OL16 3RN. Travel: Bolton train 9.25 to Manchester Victoria, then Tram to Newhey.

This months walk is based on Stage 10 of the GM Ringway. We will take in views over the reservoirs of the Piethorne Valley before climbing up to and traversing the well-named Windy Hills. Crossing the M62, close to the summit of Britains highest motorway, we continue along a section of the Pennine Way up onto Blackstone edge. We eventually descend down to Littleborough, via a medieval packhorse trail, often named the "Roman Road".
